Thanks with Baehr Hugs!
THANKS and big Baehr HUGS to everyone for helping to make the 8th Annual Baehr Challenge Obstacle Course Race on April 8, 2017 such a huge success. There were approximately 350 participants, including 50 people with Parkinson’s, traversing a field of tires, crawling through tubes and a spider web, over walls, under nets, balancing a bridge, climbing a hay bale mountain, jumping over hay bales, maneuvering an inflatable and running on a desert trail all to raise money for the Michael J. Fox Foundation and its fitness affiliate, Team Fox.
We were honored to have Shari-Liane Sangster and Michelle Golombuski from the Michael J. Fox Foundation attend the race event. A special thanks to Shari for providing a brief presentation on the latest news from the Fox Foundation. Getting treatments from the laboratory to pharmacy shelves is a difficult and complex journey. They are making great progress with numerous clinical trials working to get better treatments to patients faster. However, 85% of clinical trials are delayed and 30% never get off the ground due to a lack of trial volunteers. Fox Trial Finder is one of the tools created by the Fox Foundation to help increase the flow of willing and engaged volunteers – both people with Parkinson’s and control participants who do not have Parkinson’s – into the clinical trials to accelerate the Parkinson’s drug development process. The Baehr Challenge is one of the top Team Fox events in the Southwest and has raised over $120,000 since its inception in 2010 thanks to your continued support and participation.
A light cloud cover, low 80’s temperatures, smooth registration check-in, crazy costumes, vibrant energy, kids (both young and old), families, people with Parkinson’s, live music with an awesome DJ, pancake breakfast, My Way Taco food truck, awesome raffle baskets, incredible grand raffle prizes, army of tireless volunteers, generous sponsors, enthusiastic participants and cheering spectators made a fun and fabulous day for all.

We hope to see you again in 2018.
Thanks for your continued support!
